"Food of the gods," currency to society, health to humanity

Poetry, education, and recipe all on cacao.

Ode To Cacao

"In Chiapas’ fields where Criollo grows,
A treasure blooms where warm sun glows.
Magnesium-rich, the world’s true king,
Supporting life in every spring.

Less than 5 percent, rare and fine,
A taste so sweet, a gift divine.
“The Food of Gods,” its name so pure,
Ancient wisdom, long and sure.

Once a currency, beans held tight,
Buy a rabbit or, in trade, take flight.
A natural lift for joy, serene,
With PEA and anandamide’s gleam.

It boosts the heart, its flow so strong,
Cacao keeps the rhythm, the beat life-long.
With antioxidants, rich and deep,
It fights the years that dare to creep.

Sweeter Criollo, delicate grace,
Hints of fruits and nuts we embrace.
A superfood, with minerals rare,
Iron, calcium, beyond compare.

With butter retained, its texture's smooth,
Low caffeine gives a steady groove.
A ceremonial past, steeped in time,
Cacao connects us, soul sublime.

From ancient lands, this bean we prize,
With health, it lifts both heart and skies."
